Dr Emir Camdzic joined the Centre for Islamic finance in 2018 and he is currently working as a Lecturer in Islamic banking and finance. He holds PhD from the University of Bolton and masters degree in Islamic banking, finance and management from the University of Gloucestershire. Emir's intellectual interests centre on intangible assets of the Islamic financial institutions and exploring the ways in which they can be effectively managed and measured. Emir is supervising a number of research students from various disciplines in business studies and also acts as a research co-ordinator for the Centre for Islamic finance.

Duties and responsibilities involve managing the academic operations team (admissions for undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes and the IT department); ensuring that all academic operational goals are accomplished with the aim of delivering a high-quality learning experience for students; managing and overseeing the execution of all facets of operations including student admissions, module timetabling, operations of assessments and award boards, liaising with the validating university (Newman University), liaising with the external bodies including HESA, HEFCE, QAA, BAC. I am also assigned level 2 access to the UKVI sponsorship management system (SMS) to assign and report on Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS).

Key responsibilities involved the sale of asset and liability products along with various administrative tasks including deputising for the line manager when required, providing clients with clear and coherent explanations of the various ethical principles behind the products and services offered by the bank and generating interest in the bank’s mortgage alternatives and long-term deposits by utilising effective sales techniques.
